Personal Injury – Periodical Payment Orders
Dr Pollock has built upon his experience of the calculation of lump sum awards of damages into providing advice on the alternative mode of settlement, Periodical Payment Orders (or Agreements covering such income based settlements).
A typical report would include:-
- The comparison of lump sum awards and PPO alternatives for different heads of claim
- The interpretation of life expectancy reports and an analysis of the sensitivity of decisions made between lump sums and PPO’s to life expectancy estimates
- Consideration of appropriate indices for the indexation of different heads of claim, care costs, case management, therapies, supplies, earnings, trust expenses etc
- Mapping of costs from case and rehabilitation reports to appropriate ASHE percentages
- Review of the technical and formulaic aspects of any Orders or Agreements
- Annual checks of indexation calculations
